About the Pastors

Pastors Turner & Pernevlyn Coggins came to know and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior at the ages of six and five. They are an anointed couple who walk humbly before God.

God has blessed them with four children: Turner III, Constance, Brittany, and William.

Pastor Turner Coggins has been preaching and teaching since 1995. Holy Ghost filled, he is an anointed man of God and tenured professor with a PhD in Human Nutrition. He has taught biology, anatomy and physiology, human nutrition, and personal development for over 20 years.

Pastor Pernevlyn Coggins is an anointed woman of God, Holy Ghost filled, and a gifted teacher and preacher. She holds a BS in Computer Science, an MLS in Library and Information Sciences, and has earned 52 credits toward her EdD. She has led women’s groups and Bible studies for many years, and graduated from Grace Fellowship School of the Local Church in Pastoral Administration in 1992. Over the past 20 years, she has also worked in technology and taught at college and elementary school levels.

Vision & Mission

The vision of the Coggins is found in Ephesians 4:11-13

"So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ."

The mission of According To The Word Ministries is to win souls to Christ and encourage, edify, and build up the body of Christ.

1 Timothy 2:5-6:

"For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all people."
